Born in Center, Texas, Mr. Davis is a second-generation
trial attorney with over 40 years experience in governmental, Law Firm and
solo practice. He was educated at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving
a Bachelor of Business Administration (Pre-Law) degree in 1965, and then completing
the
University of Texas School of Law in 1967. He was immediately licensed by the
Supreme Court of Texas (1967) and began his actual practice of law. His service
as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas under Attorney General Crawford Martin
(1967 and 1970) was broken by his service in the United States Naval Reserve
JAGC Corps, for which he volunteered. He served from 1968-1970 with duty
stations which included Seattle, Washington and Midway Island, during which
time he handled as first chair trial attorney over 100 special court martial cases.
Mr. Davis’ private practice of law began in 1971 in Austin, Texas. In 1976,
he became a Partner of Davis & Davis and then in 1981 a Senior Shareholder
of Davis and Davis, P.C. and remained in that capacity until 2008. During his
thirty-seven years with the Davis & Davis organizations, he developed a professional
expertise in handling medical litigation for physicians, hospitals and nurses
and in representing those professionals in administrative proceedings before
their respective licensing boards.
During his early career, he actively served his profession as President of
the Austin Junior Bar Association and Board member of the Texas Young Lawyers
Association. He has also been a Legal Editor and Lecturer.
As a Trial Litigator, he has successfully handled many important cases to a
successful conclusion at all levels in the Texas judicial system. As a Mediator,
he has been able to successfully utilize his abilities of negotiation and persuasion
to bring about successful, agreed upon conclusions to mediated cases, both
large and small. As an Arbitrator, he is known for fairness and impartiality
in deciding contested cases being arbitrated before him. |
